Zakat is due on all forms of wealth, including salary, savings in cash, and gold. You are eligible for Zakat if your wealth meets the Nisab of Zakat—i.e. the least amount of net worth of a Muslim. It is set at the value of 87.48 gms (tolas = 7.5) in gold and 612.36 gms (tolas = 52.5) in silver.
